Living as People of the Truth - Part 7

Part 7: The Truth Still Stands — So Will We

Over the past six posts, we’ve walked through a world of confusion and conviction. We started with Pilate’s question—“What is truth?”—and saw how it still echoes in our culture today. We defined truth not as a concept, but as a Person—Jesus. We named counterfeit truths: half-truths that coddle, “my truth” that shifts with every emotion, and “no truth” that shrugs in apathy. We unpacked the consequences of ignoring truth, the culture of confusion we’re living in, and how the Church is called not to retreat, but to shine. Now, we’ve come to the final question: what are we going to do about it?

What if this is actually our moment—our opportunity to live truth, when truth is rare… and desperately needed?

If we want to be people of the truth in a world that’s constantly shifting, we can’t leave this battle at the personal level. This is a call for the church—not just individual believers—to rise and respond.

Church isn’t meant to be a hiding place from culture. She’s meant to be a lighthouse in it. Not echoing the noise of the world—but proclaiming a different sound: the voice of truth.

So what can our churches do?

    • Be sanctuaries of truth—

    Not echo chambers of opinion.

    Not platforms for personalities.

But sacred spaces where the Word of God is central, Jesus is exalted, and life transformation is expected.

When people walk through the doors of our churches, they don’t need a TED Talk, a pep talk, or a motivational seminar.

    They need the truth.

    Spoken with love.

    Grounded in Scripture.

    Saturated with grace.

A church that proclaims truth without love is harsh.

A church that offers love without truth is hollow.

    We must have both.

It’s tempting to only preach the parts of the Bible that people like. But if we only serve what’s sweet, people will starve for what’s sustaining. The gospel comforts the brokenhearted—but it also confronts the stubborn. We don’t do anyone favors by softening the edges of truth.

    • We must also train the next generation to know and love truth.

Here’s the reality: we’re always one generation away from spiritual amnesia.

Judges 2:10 tells us that after the generation of Joshua died, “another generation grew up who neither knew the Lord nor what He had done…”

That’s what happens when we don’t pass down the truth.

We cannot assume the next generation will inherit what we never intentionally taught. We must equip them to think biblically, live faithfully, and love Jesus deeply—even when the world pulls the other way.

Truth can’t just be taught. It has to be caught. And if what we preach on Sunday isn’t lived out on Monday, we’re not living in truth—we’re just playing church.

    Church, this is our charge:

    • Let the world see truth…in how we serve.
    • Let them hear truth…in how we speak.
    • Let them feel truth…in how we worship.
    • Let them witness truth…in how we love our neighbors… and our enemies.

In a world drowning in distortion, our churches must be lighthouses pointing to what is real.

Truth is not just a concept.

Truth is not just a mood.

Truth is a Person. His name is Jesus.

So now the real question is this: Will we walk away indifferent… Or will we respond?

Maybe you’ve been quiet when you should have spoken.

Maybe you’ve softened the truth to stay comfortable.

Maybe the culture’s confusion has crept into your heart, your home, your belief system.

Maybe you’re just tired—trying to hold it together in a world that doesn’t seem to want what’s true anymore.

This is the time to respond. This is the time to pray.

🙏 We pray for eyes to see clearly in an age of distortion.

🙏 We pray for hearts to stay soft when the world gets hard.

🙏 We pray for our churches to be lighthouses again.

🙏 We pray for courage—to live truthfully, speak boldly, love deeply.

If you’re ready to stand, continue standing, or stand again on the Truth that cannot be shaken, then let this be a line-in-the-sand moment. For your life. For our churches. Let it start today.
