I’ve been around for a while, what are some Next Steps I can take?

Women’s Bible Study: this group meets for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship twice a month on the first and third Sundays of the month at 10:00 AM. For more info, you can contact Mary Alice Prater, or just show up! They’d love to have you join them.

Men’s Ministry: our guys’ group meets on a semester basis for a study that is either topical to men or for more in-depth Biblical learning. Not only do we learn together, but we pray for one another, and food is always available. We also try to do a Men’s breakfast a few times a year when we’re not in our weekly meeting rhythm. New semesters start in early fall and new year.

Serving: interested in joining a team? Looking for a way to help out? We’dlove to speak with you. Text SERVE to (606) 268-6156 and let us know how you see yourself fitting in or fill out the Get/Active Serve option on our Next Steps Launcher. One great way you can get involved RIGHT NOW is by joining the rotation for our Greeter Team (contact Paul Richardson).

Giving: God loves it when we give cheerfully and we don’t want to make it seem like this is a chore or we’re shaking you down for cash. We do however, believe that giving is a practical step for a church goer. First, take it to God in prayer, realizing that He is a God of unlimited resources, and ask Him to open your heart to give what you can both joyously and without hesitation. We do not “take up” the oeering during our services. We have two collection plates near the back of our sanctuary and we also have a safe and secure online option for giving at mcfc.churchtrac.com/give

Join a Group: though other groups will form overtime throughout the year, we have one ongoing and consistent Life Group that meets on Sunday nights at MCFC. They eat together, fellowship together, and learn together. If you’re interested or would like more info, fill out the Small Groups option on our Next Steps Launcher.

Ongoing Church Life Events: you can be as connected or disconnected at MCFC as you want to be. But if you’re considering making this church YOUR church, we’ll do our best to welcome you in, welcome you back, and welcome you home...but your part is to put down roots, be as consistent as possible, and be involved in consistent and ongoing opportunities to plug into church life like: Friday Fun Nights, Fall Picnic, Summer Splashpad Party, and more!

What about my kids/students?

Little Ones: We love having little ones in our services! Don’t feel like any noises or distractions are keeping us from worship. Those are good things! However, if you’d rather not remain with them in the main room for whatever reason, our nursery space is always open and available at MCFC! In it, you’ll find most of what you’ll need to keep an infant or toddler occupied as well as video and audio from the service.

Kids: our Children’s Church is led on a rotating basis by a dedicated group of teachers. They meet every Sunday, except for the first Sunday of the month, during the message portion of the morning worship gathering. You have the ability to keep an eye on the door for Kids’ church, so safety shouldn’t be an issue. You can also feel comfortable that they’re learning in a loving environment about God’s love for them through Jesus. On the Sundays we don’t have Kids’ Church, activity sheets are provided in the sanctuary to keep them learning and occupied.

Students: Our Student Ministry is for students in 6th-12th grades. We currently meet twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 10:00 AM. Cassy Richardson leads this group.

Other:

For Kids: Easter Egg Hunt, Fall VBS

For Students: Kings Island trip, Participation in area youth events

Being consistent in community life at MCFC is one of the best ways to get connected as well as be discipled in your faith. Each Sunday sermon doesn’t just stand alone on its own, but is woven together with the entire story of God and how it intersects with our stories, generally through Sermon series. Each sermon in a series will build oe of the ones before and you’ll come to learn and hopefully appreciate the entire counsel of God’s Word and how it is relevant and applicable to our modern lives. Another bonus of being consistent is the network of Jesus’ followers you’ll sing with, pray with, at times laugh and cry with, and respond together to God’s Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
